Devlin stopped himself in his tracks and made a double-take. The target of his vision had already whisked by, but his eyes could not have deceived him. He spun around and immediately followed her. Could it be?

His pace quickened as he saw her walk into a clothing store. He followed her between the racks, trying to get a glimpse of her face without her seeing him. After all, if he was wrong, he'd be embarrassed. And he didn't want to be accused of stalking a total stranger. So he ducked behind a mannequin and peered around its waist.

It was her. It was Laura, a friend he met on the internet who lived here in California. Business brought him here and Devlin followed a few clues she unknowingly offered to begin searching for her. They had never met before, though he had seen her in pictures she would email to him. She was, to him, a fantasy. Cute, cheery and very open with her sexuality. They shared so much in common.
