County Fair

This time of year is always so busy for me. We have had so little time together. Having kids and being a 4-H leader, I am always busy with County Fair.

I was in the judging room when I looked up and saw you standing in the door of the big Morton building. At first I thought I had to be wrong. It couldn't be you. You wouldn't risk coming here like this. But then I looked again and I knew it was you. I was hidden behind the big window and watched as you came in and looked around.

My heart raced as I saw you walking closer and looking at all the projects. I knew I had to move sooner or later, and when I did you would see me. I so wanted to run out and jump into your arms, to hug you and hold you tight. But this was my real life. My family was close by and definitely would not understand my kissing and hugging a complete stranger.

Suddenly, I caught sight of my reflection in the glass, just as you looked over and saw it too.
