Even half-assed plans sometimes workout

This story is the result of a plot idea given to me by Chariot.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think this could happen and now I want to share my story with you.

I was in a business partnership with a man named Murl. We started the business while I was living in Boston. Business was good, however after only a couple years, I had an opportunity to get involved with another business venture that required my relocating to Florida. Murl assured me that he would keep the business running smoothly in Boston and we kept in touch by both phone and email. Once a quarter, I would make an overnight trip back to Boston, to both check on the business and to visit with friends I had left behind but not forgotten.

Everything had gone well for the first couple of years and then through a series of clever and unethical moves, Murl manage to steal the business away from me. All I got out of it was the money I had invested and not a cent of profit. To say I was pissed would be an understatement. The thing is, we could have both made a lot of money, and in fact, Murl did, but he became greedy and wanted it all. I was partly to blame because I had been too trusting.
