There are things that happen when you are very young that stay with you and affect you the rest of your life. An event that happened to me when I was only ten years old has done just that.

I was nine when the Second World War broke out, at least when the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor so I was old enough to know a little about sex. I had lived on a farm all my life up to that point.
