The Athlete and the Genius Part Four

TK got her bag from the back of Aunt Mae's car and they followed Carmen to the back yard that was big enough to set up a pitching area and home plate. The day turned out warm so they didn't need their jackets and that made it easier to warm up. TK set a stick down for the pitching rubber and she measured out the space that would be a normal pitching circle and then she counted off the feet to home plate and there Carmen sat down a square board that they would use as home plate. Carmen got the catching glove and she squatted down behind home plate and her mom started to protest but her husband stopped her. Everyone gathered around as TK began to warm up. She threw some pitches making sure that they were over the plate and not too hard. She didn't want Tom to see what he had coming and also to get him a little more over confident. When TK was ready she told Tom that it was time to get the bet over with. He took a few practice swings with the softball bat and then he stepped up to the plate.

"You ready to do my chores in the morning." Tom said to Carmen and he made sure that everyone heard him.

"Won't have to, I'll be sleeping in as you cook my breakfast." Carmen said and then she hit her glove with her fist.

"Ok TK we got a batter here, let's see if he can hit or if he is all ...
