I'd been working at the Gateway hotel most of the summer, doing odd jobs around the place and helping out the regular staff. It didn't pay that well, but it was enough to see me through the summer break from University until the loan money arrived. It was also a great way of meeting people, there were different guests most days, and I like doing a good job to get the extra tips. I particularly liked the male guests, young and old. The bulk of guests were business types, using the hotel for conferences and meetings.
