When I was hired into the IT department I had no idea how this career change would turn out but I just tried to roll with the flow. In my first (professional) job after university I was working in the Health Records department as a clerk doing filing. I was making about 20K per year and thought this was great. A manger in Information Systems was leaving and his job came up. I applied and was surprised to hear that I was the preferred candidate. The new job paid 50k - I was shocked.
