Another adventure in my Pawn Shop

I usually work late on Fridays and close well after the other businesses in my area, as I was doing on this evening. I am John Wills and own a small pawn and jewelry shop in the hotel district of town.

I was doing some paper work at my desk, when I heard the door chime as it was opened. Looking up, I saw a rather slim lady enter with a little brown dog on a leash. She asked if was ok for her to bring the dog in. I replied we were a dog friendly store and I even had some puppy treats.

Getting up from my desk I took a better look at her. She was around 5'6" tall, brown hair in slacks and light coat. I got a treat as she came up to the counter and knelt down to give it to her dog. She told me she did not like strangers and I looked up into her eyes and smiled as I gave her the brisket. She took it and wagged her tail. I ran my hand over her head and down her back, petting her. She looked amazed and said she never has done that before, she must trust you.

Standing up, I looked at her and asked her what I could do for her. She said she was out walking and saw my light and came in. She went on, ...
