Nearly every day of the week, I go to Tim Hortons, a coffee shop chain with an outlet near my house. Almost every morning around 10:15, I stop in for a coffee and usually find someone to chat with. Last week, I sat down with my coffee and picked up the local morning paper and perused the sports page. Because I had already read a different morning paper that was delivered to my home, I set the paper aside.

Next to my table sat a very attractive lady alone. I was trying to look at her without getting caught because she looked really good. I guessed her age to be about 56-60, more on the 56 side. She wore diamond rings on her hand, but nothing on her wedding ring finger. Her skin was very nice, and her slim body told me she looked after herself.

I struck up a conversation with her first about the weather then about her being "stood up" by her coffee date. She laughed about it and said she just felt like a good, strong cup of coffee. As we were talking to mothers came in with four kids and took the table across from me. All the chatter and commotion made it hard to talk to the lady, so she said, "Maybe I'll move over there with you so we can chat." She moved over and we continued our talking. She introduced herself as Pat; and when I told her my name, she said, "I've seen you in here before. Do you live here?" she joked. I told her that I came here every day for coffee and she said that maybe we could become coffee friends.
