I was going much too fast for the weight and size of the load I was pushing. As I struggled with the overloaded delivery cart, I made the turn into the hallway that would take me to the Payroll Department and began losing control. They had warned me in Distribution that I had too many reports and Christmas Bonus checks stacked too high in the cart but I was determined to make the delivery in one trip, unload this stuff, and get the hell out of Dodge!

It had been a marathon getting all this stuff programmed and producing the final payouts for the Sales Associates performance during this Christmas Selling Season. I'd been on the project since day after Thanksgiving. Today was Friday, the day before Christmas Eve, and everything was produced and ready to be audited, packaged for delivery, and shipped out via UPS. Everything had to happen by 2PM in order for the sales staff to get their checks tomorrow. And besides, as soon as I got rid of this stuff I was off for a much deserved weeks vacation! I was beyond tired since I'd been working all day yesterday and all night last night putting the final touches on everything and my only thoughts at the time was getting out of here before the payroll staff arrived. If I was "caught" on the premises there would be questions and conversations that I just didn't want to deal with. So, my goal was to be gone before any of them arrived..
