Kal ignored the hot beach sand that stung his bare feet. He stood upon the strand while his two weeks bride emerged from the refreshing coolness of the gentle sea. Nika flung herself into his arms and clung to him as if keeping cadence with the surging breakers which caressed the salt-sprayed shingle.

It had been four years since the strange disappearance of Edward Spencer, late Colonel of the ROYAL Air Force and former resident of England. Officially, he was listed as missing. The scientists still couldn't crack the meaning of the symbols although they had discovered some mathematical patterns in the mix. Eventually a few scientists had carefully touched several of the symbols but nothing happened. The only symbol that nobody dared touch was the one the late commander had on that fateful day.

These far distant realities were absent from their minds as they embraced on the sandy paradise of Fiji. They sat down to watch a truly breathtaking sunset. Kal remarked in a dreamy voice, "Doesn't it look like the sun is about to get swallowed by the deep? Ancient man must have thought that the sun was extinguished at night by the ocean and then somehow reborn each morning. What a sight!"
