**What follow is a re-write of this story. The original version was post about a year ago, but I hope this update is better.**

I hung up the phone and opened my office door, having just closed the biggest deal in my little advertising firm's short history. Walking into the outer office, I was a bit disappointed to see just one of my eight employees still at his desk. I'd been excited to share my news and had planned to buy everyone a drink at the bar around the corner to celebrate the deal and kick off the weekend.

"Where did everyone go?" I sat down in the chair next to Kyle's desk.

"Home, I guess." Kyle shrugged as he popped his ipod earphones out of his ears. "Its almost six o'clock."

I looked at my watch. I had no idea it had gotten to be that late. I'd lost track of time while I was on the phone.

"Why are you still here?" I asked.

Kyle was my newest employee. He'd only been working for me for about two months. His graphic work was exceptional and in the short time he'd been with us, his work had already exceeded my expectations.
