THE ELENA SITUATION

Elena was struggling in the binds. It was dark, dank and dreary in the room, or was it a cave? Tovar couldn't see clearly yet and he tried to move up closer but her could barely move himself, or he seemed to be moving in slow motion. He ran faster, harder, pushing himself to get to her, but he wasn't getting any closer. It felt as if he was on a treadmill. All he could see was his beautiful genius struggling and moaning muffled screams of angry terror. Just as his eyes were adjusting to the darkness, a light appeared at the top of the structure. They were in a cave after all, the walls were slick rock. Yet the top of the cave had opened up as if it were a man-made structure and he'd seen something up there.

Elena struggled mightily in the pale, thin rope. It looked like string of some sort. Tovar couldn't tell what it was and his body and mind felt as if they were stuck in some sort of fog. Then a blood-curdling muffled scream from Elena gave him a start and he looked up to see a spider descending from the top of the cave.
