The other night I went to a buddy's house to do two things: Watch the Phillies and Rays play in the World Series, and to help stuff envelopes for our organization's monthly newsletter. Bill was home alone because his wife had gone to Toronto to a sales show.

Bill is 58 years old, and I am 67. We have been friends for about fifteen years now, but didn't really know too much about each other's personal lives. Bill is about 5-7, lean at about 145 pounds, fairly good looking. I am 5-6, too heavy at 165 pounds, and I'm an I-don't-know type of good looking, although I have been successful with many women during my married life. But that's another story or two or twenty.

Bill set up a card table in the middle of the family room downstairs where he had a big-screen TV. He put two chairs side-by-side so we could look at the TV face-on and so we could pass each other stuff for the envelopes. He had a small TV table beside each chair with snacks and a beer on them. We were both cheering for the Phillies, so we had no argument there, but we decided that we were going to think of some type of bet so we could make things interesting.

As we worked, I noticed Bill's knee was touching mine, but I didn't think too much of it because we had to work so closely together. At one point, someone made a fantastic play and Bill grasped my thigh just above the knee and left it there for about twenty seconds. Quite ...
