If I may say this, I fucking love my career!! I may not be an actor, singer, or an athlete, but this is the closest thing to feeling on top of the world in my book. What is better is my hobby, and that is when I am literally on top of the world. Let me explain.

As a writer, I have the luxury of doing my job, if you can call it that, at any time, anyplace, and anywhere. Now it isn't the only profession that allows that much freedom, but it is much more pleasurable when you are doing something that you love since you were a little kid, as I am. My hobby is traveling, so being a writer who writes an array of articles for several travel industry leading magazines makes it oh so sweet.

It wasn't always that way. I struggled mightily for the first couple of months mainly during my senior year of college, churning out article after article. For the first year I saw minimal results. Then I got my first big break. I saw an opportunity to write about mountain climbing, and ironically I was packing up for a great weekend with some of my friends as we were leaving to go camping in the mountains hugging the North Carolina and Tennessee border. I already had reservations about it because I am from the city and camping is something I never put down on my ‘life to-do' list. The payout was great for three days of relaxing.
