My roommate and longtime best friend Tim and I were driving back to his college for our spring break during our freshman year. My parents had moved out of the family home and settled in New England after I left college, so I knew this might be the last time I'd be back in the old stomping grounds. Tim and I grew up together playing little league and were best friends from age 9. We stayed over at each others houses constantly, and did everything together. His mom was as fond of me as mine was of him.
