I was driving cross-country to Denver where my daughter just had a baby and was in one of those "I" states - Indiana or Iowa or something - when I stopped to spend the night. I tried a couple of motels on the interstate but they were full. I went into the Wal-mart store to pick up some snacks and ask if anyone knew of another motel that might have a room. As I was waiting in line to check out I was also checking out the woman in front of me.

She was about my age, obviously a local woman. She was a woman that some people describe as having a 'pretty face,' meaning she was overweight. Well she did have a nice face, but also she was very comfortable with herself in a way that I found attractive. She was the size I liked. There's something about a full-sized woman that excites me. As we talked I couldn't help imagine this woman in my arms - or in my bed. Okay, maybe I was fantasizing a little about that last part. It had been a long drive and I was feeling lonely. But she certainly looked good to me.

"I'm just driving through," I told her, "and all the motels on the highway are full. You know of any others around here?" ...
