His phone ringing wakes him up. For a moment, Jer just sits there trying to get his bearings straight. He finds himself sitting on El's couch still in his shorts with a light blanket over him. Again his phone rings, picking it up off the floor he answers it in a groggy voice. "Hello?"

"Are you coming home tonight man?" Nate's voice sounds strained.

"No, wasn't planning on it why?"

"Some chick named Brenda is here looking for you. I think she's drunk and looking to get laid."

"I don't want her to know where I'm at so I'm not gonna tell you. Just tell her I'm with another girl. If she is so inclined, you can have her I'm not really interested." He hangs up not waiting for a response.

In the silence of the house he realizes that it was all a dream. He really is not sure where reality stopped and fantasy took over. He gets up and goes to the bathroom and finds his towel hanging up so he must have drifted off before El got out of the shower. After he finishes in the bathroom he walks into the guest room and finds the covers neatly, pulled back and a pair of blue sweat shorts lying on the bed. "They were black in my dream" he says to himself as he changes.
