I didn't think basic training would ever end. Eleven weeks of grueling training, and hours upon hours of classes on the flag, protocol, the military way of life, and everything else one would rarely ever need to know.

My only thoughts were to get back home for my ten day leave and going to Denise's to see if I could rekindle our relationship. Denise had broken up with me two months before I went into the service and she never gave me a reason why. But it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.
