This is part 1 of a multi-part story and only just starts to scratch the tip of the ice-berg - be warned, not much action happens in this first part! Feedback appreciated, as always!

If you've found this blog, dear reader, the likelihood is that you've read a small article in one of many major newspapers about the mystery surrounding the death of film star Shannon Slade. The article will have indicated that a number of sordid details about the goings-on in her life in the weeks before her death would be revealed in the newly created blog of yours truly, freelance gossip reporter Ricky Malone. You won't be disappointed, because I've chosen to write the whole story here instead of one of the usual magazines for two reasons: firstly because this is the story that'll finally make me rich or therabouts, and secondly because there's a whole lot of steamy details that can only be published in this manner.

I'll say this right at the start: that I've followed and researched this story long before it took its tragic turn, so I know pretty much directly all the people involved and can vouch for the truthfulness - but since I also rely on what has been told to me by various people I interviewed, you'll forgive me if I take some poetic licence to make the whole thing more readable and interesting. It's done in Hollywood all the time, and I'm sure it'll eventually be turned into a script ...
