Chapter 7

Senator Overdale was back in his office looking over some updated reports. He'd just gotten back from one marvelous week. Tammy had been just what the doctor ordered. He felt chipper and full of energy now. That little fox had been fantastic. Sure he'd gotten drained and had slept quite a bit, but it had been worth it. He figured he wouldn't need to get laid for a month. His reverie was broken by the speaker on his phone.

It was his secretary. "Senator, mister Lay is here to see you. He says it's urgent."

Ben Lay was one of the top dogs in the oil industry. Considering how much dinero had been slipped into Jim's campaign coffers by the businesses this corporate officer represented, it was very prudent of him to give Ben Lay every courtesy that he could provide. It wasn't a good idea to piss off big money when it was on your side. "Send him in now."

Jim stood up to greet his guest. Ben Lay strolled into the senator's office as if he owned it. The CEO was sure sharp. His gray suit was made of soft wool, with the hint of subtle tweed in the weave. A Rolex sparkled from his left wrist and he gave Overdale a perfunctory hand shake. "Good to see you again, senator." ...
