Duty Calls Part 4

At the end of Part 3, Dave and Marny had consummated their lust for each other. Despite all the reasons it never should have happened, they ended up sharing an intense weekend of sex and even the stirrings of a love affair. Now, reality intruded as Dave went back to his isolated jet training base, where he was an instructor pilot. Although Dave wanted Marny, he knew it was wrong. Wrong partly because she was engaged to be married, and Marny lived thousands of kilometres away from him - he couldn't ask her to change her life based on an isolated weekend. It was also wrong because the military frowned on fraternization between Officers and enlisted personnel.

Dave dozed off fitfully in the airliner as he flew back to his home base on the Prairies. He was exhausted - he and Marny had been through a 36-hour sex marathon that left him drained, physically and emotionally. They hadn't slept much at all, so he desperately needed to get some shut-eye.

Sleep eluded him, though, as his mind went over and over the situation, but failed to find a solution. He finally drifted off as he continually bounced back and forth between thoughts of proclaiming his undying love to her and hoping she would break off her engagement, to just writing it all off as a great experience that could lead nowhere.
