Mother's Day...a day when we celebrate our mom's. My kids made me Mother's Day gifts in school...colored clay pots painted by their two little hands, a card decorated w/ sparkles and bright crayon drawings. How sweet.

My son asked my husband.

"Where is your Mother's Day gift for mommy?"

I had long ago I stopped expecting anything from my husband for Mother's Day. For him it was always a hit or miss. He also pointed out that I was not his mother. Whatever. I reminded him that I was the mother of his children.

My own brother gave me some candy and chocolate and he said b/c I was the mother of his niece and nephew whom he loved to spoil.

We had brunch with both our Mothers. I had bought cards for both our moms and included a gift card to their favorite stores as their gift. They both loved that since their taste is so different from mine, it is hard to buy them something they want. My brother-in-law mentioned he sent flowers to his ex-wife. They had been divorvced for years and she had since remarried, but he said after all, she was the mother of his children.
