What a Train Ride!

I was settling aboard a train that would take me through the Canadian Rockies, a Trans-Canadian journey through snow covered passes. It is a night train with gorgeous views, a full moon reflects off the snow. My sleeper room adjoins another and as the train begins to roll I notice that there is a rattle coming from the connecting door.

I go over to try to close the door handle more firmly and it comes off in my hand. The door swings open and the sight of a lovely woman with one leg up on the sleeper bunk adjusting her stockings greeted me. She is startled and turns around to see me with door handle in hand and an embarrassed look. She straightens and I stammer out what has happened. She laughs and put me at ease. I offer to call the steward and get it fixed or to move to another compartment.

She looks at me for a disconcerting moment as if undressing me. Then she looks me in the eye and says, "that will not be necessary. We are two mature adults, I am sure we can handle it somehow."

I thank her for her graciousness and reappraise her in a new light. She is a striking woman of indeterminate age. She could have been anywhere from 30 to 45, had shoulder length blond hair, sexy dark eyes, an incredible figure and a lovely smile. She was dressed in a cream blouse with a couple of buttons undone and unbuttoned green cardigan ...
