"Getting ready to go to work," Gena said to her as she went over and began to put on her police belt.

"Is that what you did yesterday, go talk your way into getting your job back?" Lara asked her and Gena could see the hurt in her eyes.

"Yes I went to see the sheriff, and we talked about my job." Gena told her going to the closet and getting her gun, checking it to make sure it wasn't loaded before putting it into her holster.

"Did you tell him about what the doctor said or did you lie to him?" Lara asked her.

"I didn't lie to him..." Gena said as she started toward the door.

"But you didn't tell him all of the truth did you..." Lara spat out to her.

"I told him what he needed to know," Gena told her trying not to look at ...
