A Job for the Recession

Natalie awoke on a padded table in a dim room. The walls of the room were made of tinted glass and a soft blue light reflected off the windows. She quickly went over the series of events that led her here. Having to care for her father after he was diagnosed while she was in college and then paying for his funeral had tapped her out. She had continued her college education because she had figured it wouldn't be difficult to find a job to pay off her loans once she finished. She hadn't planned on the economy tanking at the beginning of her senior year of school. After trying to make it on her own for a few years she finally realized that she might have to go with a more unconventional route. That was when she had met Matt.

She had been talking to her friend Lisa about her difficulties while at a party. Matt had come up behind her and when Lisa left to get a drink Matt whispered in her ear, "I might be able to help you out with that." As Matt explained it, there were many men who were looking for girlfriends or wives to help them at home with cleaning, cooking, shopping, and whatever other "personal needs" they might have without the complications of a real relationship. Matt's company found women who were willing to stay with a man for a year or two and matched them ...
