The Spring of 1983 I was transfered to Bradford Penna to take over a job that was in disarray.

Bradford is located in the north western part of the state, surrounded by the Alleghany mountains. There were all ready crews on site, and a supervisor that I was to replace.

Bradford is the home of Zippo lighters, Case knives, Holly Carburetor, and Penzoil oil products.

My boss had made arrangements for me to stay at the Holly Hotel.

I arrived on Sunday afternoon checked into the Holly Hotel which isn't the niceset hotel. It was ok, the bathroom was down the hall, which really sucked, and no tvs in the room.

When I arrived I was met by the manager, a middle age woman. She checked me in, showed me the room, and the private bar that was open only to friends of the hotel. Which meant most of the crews were in there. No drinking in Penna on Sunday back then.

I sat in the bar talking to crew members I knew, and introducing myself to ones I hadn't yet met. Drank several beers, and had a good time. I don't remember going to my room, but I managed and fell asleep.
