I was thinking back to last summer and remembering the camping trip that changed my life. I should actually say our lives. What happened that weekend began a ride that we never could have dreamed of even a week before. It all started with what we thought was going to be a long and hard weekend of supervising a camping trip for my daughters soccer team and turned into memory that will last a lifetime. Let me tell you a little bit about us. Linda and I (my name is Dave) have been married for 22 years. We have two kids and have lived what would be considered by most a successful happy life. The last few years have not been exactly full of passion and romance. With our son in college and our daughter going off to college this fall, the bills have begin to mount and the quality family time we once enjoyed is almost nonexistent. That is way Linda and I agreed to help chaperone a weekend camping trip with my daughters soccer team. That and the fact our good friends Dean and Angie were the other couple in charge.

Our daughter Megan has been playing soccer since she was 3 and has been playing with many of these girls since she entered the competitive world of club soccer. She is going to college on an athletic scholarship, as are a few of the other girls on the team. So this camping trip was sort of a last hurrah before they drift off in their own separate directions. Megan is a strong midfielder she has always been able to run harder and longer then her team mates and stays in great shape. It has been one of our greatest joys to watch her play over the years and get to know the other girls and their families. ...
