I only had the 15 minute drive but I was going to enjoy every moment. I was headed to my first night of tutoring for my General Physics II class. I had never been to a tutoring session before. My GPA in my first semester had been a 3.9 but had dropped radically a 3.75 in my second semester due to my one mind numbing class ... Physics. I barely made it through General Physics I and literally started sweating and shaking thinking about General Physics II. The first three weeks had already proven to be the most difficult of my academic career. Professor Stone although very engaging seems to be speaking Klingon and before I know it my eyes glaze over. I tried multiple tactics. I drank 3 cups of coffee before class and brought one in to class with me. I did exercises before class to get my blood pumping. These seemed to work for the first 15 minutes or so but soon enough my mind would drift again. Academics always came so easy to me, this new struggle was baffling. Worst yet, I need to keep my GPA up above 3.5 in order to keep my full scholarships. I could not let General Physics II drop me below that. If taking a tutoring class was going to make that happen then I was all for it. I truly did not have the time in my schedule but it was a required course so I needed to get it over with sooner rather than later. If tutoring did not turn things around in the next week I was going to need to drop the class and re-take it next semester. I could not imagine anything more dreadful. ...
