My Healer Part Nine

After Maryanne went to bed, Grace got out Hope's tablet, first looking for a message from her and not finding one, she began to work the tablet just trying to remember the things that Hope had taught her about it during their time together and when they were snowed in. Hope taught her a lot about going places where she shouldn't be without ever getting caught. She wondered if Hope had something like this in mind all along and why she had left her tablet behind. Once she was sure that she knew what to do, she put the tablet aside and tried to go to sleep but her mind was still working and she put that to good use before falling asleep in the wee hours of the morning.

"So what do we have to do?" Maryanne asked when she sat down by Grace at the kitchen table while Little Grace played with some pots and pans in the floor by them.

"First I have to establish a tax record for myself and an income," Grace said as she used the tablet to find her way into the tax database.

"Won't they catch you?" Maryanne asked nervously. ...
