THE BRAVES LOST, BUT I WON

Most Atlanta Braves fans will never forget the 1991 World Series. I will always remember it, too, but for an entirely different reason: when the Braves lost in the seventh game, my husband Larry turned me into a slut.

Larry invited over four of his best pals to enjoy the game with him. Ironically, he was the only Braves fan, so he took a lot of ribbing. The five of them gathered in front of our big-screen TV to cheer on their teams while gobbling popcorn, telling raunchy jokes, farting and burping. My job was to keep them supplied with cold beer and snacks. I have always been a prick-teaser and I was at my best that day in a saucy halter-top and snug hot pants. I had chosen white garments because they contrasted very nicely with my golden tan. Whenever I entered the room, the conversation died down as they focused all of their attention on me.

I was in the kitchen preparing snacks for the boys. I wasn't paying much attention to what was happening in the other room, but while I was making the potato salad I sensed that something was going on that involved me. Call it "female intuition". Careful to remain out of sight, I stood next to the door and eavesdropped on the whispering men. ...
