THE FAMILY

The Patras family came to the United States from Greece just before World War 1. It was led by the patriarch of the family, Alekos Patras, was a well-known mason and concrete worker in Athens, Greece, and continued in that tradition when he brought his family to the States. He and his wife, and their four children, along with his two brothers and their families. The Patras Stone and Masonry Co. had been in existence for generations in Greece and was now going to flourish in America. The first years were very difficult. They settled in Philadelphia, and it took a while to build a reputation for quality and value. By the mid 1960's, The eldest of the Patras sons had taken over and they were operating in three major cities, Philadelphia, New York, and Cleveland. Everyone in the family was in the business. The men were all craftsmen and laborers, and the women worked in the offices answering phones and handling client relations. It was a very tight knit family operation.

The Patras business continued on like this, being very successful, for decades. In the year 1988 the company was being run by Alekos Patras' eldest grandson, Marco, who was the eldest son of Alekos' eldest son Alexei. It was in 1988 that Marco and his wife Gina had their first son, who they named Cole. From the day he was born Cole was destined to be the next man who would run the Patras Stone and Masonry Co. Cole had a younger sister and brother, and they would surely work in the family ...
