I've never been much for public speaking. I prefer to work alone, and keep my own counsel. This works for me. I'd given up on helping out during the career days at the local high schools. The blank stares on most of those young faces as I tried to explain my entrepreneurial success soon convinced me I was wasting my time. Those kids only attended the presentations to get out of their regular classes. And their primary goals in life, goofing off and getting loaded while living off someone else, pretty much ruled out learning anything useful from me.

Veronica had to ask me several times, each time expounding upon the differences between the public high schools and her private academy for girls. Her school was named after some forgotten woman's suffrage advocate. That old broad was so forgotten that I cannot remember her name. But Veronica called the school, "Wonder Woman Academy". That nickname I could remember.

Veronica, "my friends call me Ronnie", didn't really run the school. Her husband was the Headmaster. She was more of a girl Friday who organized fund raisers and herded the parents and encouraged their booster club. She lined up the speakers for the career day presentations. And she stood around looking beautiful. She roped me into this deal.

Wonder Woman Academy was a top level prep school. It emphasized math and science skills, as well as rounding out the girls' general education. ...
