A few days later... Carole had had a busy day preparing for the major client presentation tomorrow. They had never managed to land this account, and tomorrow she and Jan were travelling to meet the client and pitch for the work. This could be the make or break for her to step up to Director from Acting Director; of course she was nervous that all should be the best possible. She needed a good night's rest as she had an early start in the morning. She and Jan would drive to the meeting at 3pm tomorrow afternoon, and not knowing when it would finish, she had booked a hotel for her and Jan for the night. Carole went to bed early and was asleep when John came to bed.

Carole was up early and dressed in her smartest dark suit with a high neck cream blouse, stockings and smart black shoes. She put her hair up, as she usually did for work. Just as she came out of the bathroom, John got up, took one look at her and said "Wow, you look great - I'd give you the contract immediately!" Carole gave him a peck on the cheek, and noticed that he was getting excited, "What!" "Well you know that you dressed in a smart suit gets me going," and then added softly, "you're going to be away tonight, are you in a hurry now?" "I don't believe you - No, we can't!" Then Carole softened, nothing last night, nothing tonight, and she was alright as she'd already packed her little friend. "Sit down on the edge of the bed."
