We were at a wedding event in the hills above Caloundra. Seven couples and four individuals involved in the official wedding party were staying in a house near the wedding and reception venue. The whole house was in good spirits and had been eating, drinking, shopping, swimming and generally enjoying themselves since arrival maybe ten hours before. They had arrived separately from their various local and interstate homes. The car keys had been tossed in the empty fruit bowl in mock suggestion of what might occur later, but it probably wouldn't.

A game was suggested. All the names of the boys were written down and placed in one bowl and all the names of the girls in the other. Because the house was built for a large amount of people, the pantry was a large walk-in style, and a random couple would be drawn out of the hat and would get 15 minutes locked in the pantry together. No questions asked.

Later in the night, during a lightning fast game of 6 player 500, my name was called by the self-nominated hostess. I might have been the third male called. With a twang of regret you get when leaving a good hand, I wandered over to the kitchen with the cat calls behind me. Who would I get? I waited for the hostess who drew a name from the girls bowl. Ha! With a smile I looked at my wife who mockingly rolled her eyes as her name was called. How interesting would this be? There were calls for a re-draw but I firmly said no and took her by the hand and ...
