Kylie and Matt had were camping in the Bunya Mountains. Not exactly roughing it though. A few groups of friends had rented a cabin during winter. It was one of the few places in Queensland that got cold and on the very rare occasion it would snow in the rainforest. Regardless of whether it was snowing or not, it was cold enough to have the fire stoked and the red flowing.

Kylie and Matt had only just recently started to date each other. In fact dating may have been the wrong adjective. It was complicated? Matt knew he was welcome to drop in and suggested to Kylie that they go down for a drive and to investigate what would be happening.
