Chapter 3: Armand in the Gallery with a Knife

Tallia knew what Sarah was doing. She appreciated her friend's efforts but the constant social events were wearing her out. She sighed as she put on a pair of skinny black slacks and a black low cut top that draped across her bosom. She wore her hair up in a loose pile of curls and a pair of silver snake shaped earrings that looked as though the snakes went through her piercings and wound themselves around the top of her ears. Feeling slightly naked, she put on a pair of Chinese silver cuff bracelets with an intricate floral design. Then she slipped her feet into a pair of black cut-out ankle shoes that she felt guilty for wearing because they cost her over $200. She bought them using a birthday gift card she got from her parents.

She looked at herself in the full length mirror on her bedroom door. She thought she looked comfortable but still a little formal. It seemed appropriate attire for one of Sarah's infamous dinner parties. She looked through her dresser drawer for her black pashmina wrap and threw a few things into an antique beaded clutch bag.

Normally Sarah would have her help with the food but this time Sarah's neighbor Ric was co-hosting the dinner party. They were serving Spanish tapas and plenty of liquor. The guests were a combination of both their friends from Sarah's colleagues at the university to Ric's many gay friends and people involved in the local arts. ...
