Getting Soaked in Thailand

Chapter 1

Supoj and I raced off to the communal showers. It was an early Thursday afternoon, all our work was done, and we were off for another long weekend. Off to explore another region of Southern Thailand.

Each of us breathed an audible sigh of relief and exchanged a wink when we noticed the shower area was empty, it would be a good hour before the rest of the encampment would be released from their duties for the day and would be hitting the latrine area to clean up. None of those wise ass, ball scratching GIs around snapping their wet towels at bare butts or uncovered cocks. No loud guffaws or snide jokes about gooks. But best of all the whole place was ours in which to enjoy and relax.

Quickly stripping off our sweaty rank clothes and dropping them in one tangled heap, we raced each other for the showers which were divided into three four-man cubicles, and turned on the invigorating water to wash away the accumulated sweat of this tropical paradise.
