What had started out as an annual Memorial day vacation for me and my wife had turned into something much bigger. For a few years, she and I would drive down the coast to a small island off Florida. She had grown up going down there with her family, and when we were established enough, we began our own tradition. A few years of the two of us, and then we had our first kid. We added good friends of ours with their kid, then this year it was massive. We had two young boys, that couple had one of their own and neighbours had now decided to join us with their two kids. All in all, this years vacation was six adults and five kids - needless to say it was madness around the house when the kids were all awake, but between the beach and a pool we managed to stay somewhat civilized.

The daily routine was pretty straight forward. Wakeup, eat, beach, lunch & naps for the kids, then pool/beach again, dinner and then do whatever we could to get the kids to bed at a decent hour. It wasn't too hard considering they were all 4 years old or under, but adult time was hard to come by on this trip. Sounds boring to some, but things changed on our 3rd day to something no one would consider boring.

What started out as another one of those routine days led the adults to the pool during the kids nap.
