Office Bonus

This story needs a little context. Up until about 2 years ago I had worked in a very small office, just me and two female colleagues. One, Paula, was a couple of years older than me, so just into her forties, the other, Susan, nearly a decade younger. We were together for nearly 3 years and got on really well. Susan and I would often take the mickey out of each other, and towards the end of our time together this would occasionally be a bit flirty.

Then, I got an opportunity I couldn't pass up and changed jobs. The three of us still saw each other quite often at industry events, or if any of us were nearby the other's office we'd meet for coffee. Our relationship was still as good as it had been when we worked together, in fact being apart seemed to turn Susan and I even flirtier than before. Eventually, where before we had just done the usual air kisses when meeting and saying goodbye, these moved to pecks on the cheek and occasionally lips brushing together.

At the same time, my marriage was somewhat on the rocks and I'm afraid my imagination went into overdrive. I knew that someone as attractive as Susan wouldn't really be interested in me, but that didn't stop me from fantasising.
