It was an unusually hot day for the time of year, and Abby had made the decision to stay at home and make a start on her tan instead of going into town for the weekly shopping. That could wait, or maybe she'd even do it online.

By the sound of it, most of her neighbours had similar ideas. The family next door had a barbeque going, and the kids on the other side sounded like they had the paddling pool out and were having water fights. Abby felt exhausted just listening to them.
