You may think this is a love story, it's not. It is, however, a true story.

I had just moved to a new city and feeling a bit lonely and isolated. So far the only acquaintances I've made were coworkers. I suppose it's also worth mentioning that I'm a bit of an introvert so inviting people to hang out outside of work isn't in my character. I love my job, but as I drove back to my empty apartment for another weekend by myself I began to wonder if this decision to relocate was the right one.

As I closed the door, sadness hit me once again as reality of another weekend by myself stared back at me in the form of a silent modern apartment. For a brief moment I contemplated a suggestion from a friend back home. He suggested I join an online dating website, but the thought of that made me feel dirty and cheap. That's probably an odd thing to say coming from someone 33 and grew up in the age of technology, but I consider myself old school and that's not how I wanted to find companionship. I wasn't looking for a cheap fuck and my understanding of the type of girls on those sights were just that, easy women wanting meaningless sex. That wasn't for me.
