I don't usually mind trade exhibitions but as I get older, the days seem to get longer and longer.I was glad the show was closing for the evening, and we could all head off for the hotel. Thankfully this year the hotel was very close... or so I thought. I wheeled my overnight bag into the lobby to be met by a slightly flustered looking Sales Director.

"Ah. There you are, I'm glad I caught you before you reached the bar." He said. I was instantly on guard, wondering what he wanted me to do when all I wanted was a swift pint.

"There has been a booking mix up and we couldn't get you into this hotel. You were drafted in to help later than the rest of the bookings were made, so you have got the short straw. My PA has got you into another hotel about 20 miles away. I hope that's OK?"

"That's fine." I lied "No problem. Give me the details and I'll just shoot off before I get too comfy here."

"Ah well, I was rather hoping you would stay for the meal, and there is another thing." I waited for him to continue. "One of the girls from the Manchester office needs a lift. She is the other one who we couldn't fit in." Could be worse I thought. At least I would have some company on the drive from a young girl.
