It was a cold December day, it had been a while since she visited New York, not since her single days when she moved from Ohio to the village in order to enhance her acting career. Melina Kanakaredes was a star now, had her own succesful primetime series on the best network and she knew the talk shows were gonna start calling. She didn't mind doing these things, the only regret was leaving her 5 month old baby for 2 days, being a new mom and after all she was even bringing the little one to the set and was always nursing it there as well.

She arrived in the early afternoon and went to the studio where they taped the Conan show, after a few hours and the completion of the taping she knew she had some time to kill, and was supposed to meet an old roomate for dinner, so she would go to her hotel room and call home to see how her husband and the little one were doing.

While she was walking to her hotel, she thought she would stop and get a cup of coffee and drink it on the way and just take in some of the New York atmosphere she'd missed. When she go to the hotel the door man opened the door for her as she walked in, she didn't see a man walking out in sort of a hurry as they bumped into other, her coffe spilled all over his coat and on his suit and white shirt, Melina was beside herself, "oh my goodness, I'm so sorry" she said.
