Stacy's beat up Chevrolet shuttered to a stop in its usual parking space, outside her boyfriends dumpy apartment. She'd been dating Joe since the first month of their freshman year, and now that graduation was on the horizon, they had a few things to figure out.

In reality, they'd had a few things to figure out for a while. As their time in college accelerated to a close, and as their future grew increasingly cloudy, she wondered if she'd done the right things, or wasted an opportunity.

She loved him, more than anything, and she saw a future with him, but they'd been unable to find jobs very close to one another, and in a month's time, they'd be apart for the first time since that terrible summer after their freshman year. It was why they'd both chosen to summer in their college town, to be together, but if their end was inevitable, should Stacy have cut the cord earlier, and enjoyed a different kind of college experience?
