Chapter 6: So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu

I walked the red carpet at the Academy Awards in a pale blue gown with white beads and sequins. The effect gave the dress a silvery hue that went beautifully with the pale blue and white diamond necklace and earrings I wore - a gift from a wealthy businessman and former lover. The gown was simple in design, a slip style with a V-neckline and back. The neckline wasn't as deep as most actresses' but enough to flaunt my ample cleavage. I was accompanied by Todd Markham, a gay actor and friend who enjoyed escorting me to such events. He looked dapper in a classic tuxedo.

The next day the tabloid press had me as one of the best dressed attendees and my picture was everywhere. I have to admit I did look good.

Unfortunately I didn't win the award for Best Supporting Actress but I was thrilled to have been nominated. No easy feat after being on hiatus for ten years.

Afterwards Todd and I attended a party thrown by a famous very flamboyant gay singer who Todd had a major crush on. I was able to finagle an introduction between the two.
