It had been almost two years since I had taken a break, thanks to the pandemic. I finally decided I needed to get out of the city atleast for a few days. Business was slow, wife had taken my son to her dad's place for a few days so he could spend his school vacation's there. This was just about the right time for me to spend time with myself, so I packed a bag and got into the car. I don't know why but then I decided not to drive and take the bus to my favorite destination, a place called Mudhumalai, it was a thick forest sanctuary, plus I had a very good friend who had a quaint little resort tucked away deep inside the forest. it would take me 8 hours by bus but I could as well enjoy the scenic route.

I had to change a bus in Mysore, it was almost 4 in the afternoon, I had a cup of tea to refresh myself and boarded the next bus. We had travelled almost 2 hours and route was getting scenic, trees everywhere and once a while I could spot a deer or two grazing near the roads. The bus stopped near a tea stall for a short break. I got down ordered a tea and sat down with a smoke. The weather was just perfect, chilly and far away I could see the fog covered hills. The driver honked to let us know he was ready to leave. I got back to my seat, it was just about 1 more hour to my destination.

We arrived at Mudhumalai, I got down from the bus and took a deep breath, the clean fresh, unpolluted air far away from the city, now I had to get to my friend's resort which was a few kilometer's away from ...
