It had been a long drive to Virginia from my home in Alabama and I was glad to have arrived at my hotel. I checked in and carried my baggage up to my room before walking across the road for a quick hamburger and fries at a McDonald's. Back in my room, I decided to take a shower and then go have a drink somewhere before calling it a night; how could I have known that other plans would await me.
