An absolute ‘I WISH' tale, this is a fictional story which is based on some real events and conversations that really happened when I was trying to find a ‘model' for the cover of KINDLE ebooks. While the story is set during the first week of April, 2025, this did not actually happen. I am not this lucky, it is a mere fantasy that I can only dream about. Instead of a disclaimer and lead in that no one reads, the important facts including the big ‘6' of ‘who, what, when, where, why and how' will all be unveiled during the story. I hate that no one can be trusted in today's day and age of frivolous lawsuits, so please know that these events have NOT happened, this is a fictional story.

My name is John, I am 40 years old, stand 5' 11", have very short black hair, am in good shape with a decent body, have hazel eyes, and speak sarcasm fluently. I work as an Assistant Manager at a retail store here in my city that has no relevance to this story. I have been writing romance and erotica for about ten years, and post my stories exclusively here on ES, otherwise known as EROTIC STORIES dot com.

I have four books for sale on AMAZON, and they do okay, but AMAZON has a lot of rules and one of them is preferring and requiring art or photos for book covers. The truth is, I have done a lot of research, had many conversations, talked to other writers and publishers, friends, ex-girlfriends, even attractive coworkers, but there are either stigmas or lack of comfort associated with getting sexy or alluring photos from real people. I will explain deeper, further into the story, but this is not contrived to set up a story. I have encountered a serious, stubborn wall or roadblock when it comes to posting books for sale on AMAZON. Without photos or cover art, I can only charge so much, and only get so much attention in a deep, deep ocean of written KINDLE erotica.

Doubt me if you want, I'm speaking the truth.

Rather than waste time and effort converting my work onto the KINDLE publishing platform to get my share of $3 or in reality, just over $2.34, I just work for income, and write for fun, a hobby of sorts. Even so, when I meet a pretty girl, either a stranger or coworker, I try to earn enough trust so I don't sound like a perv. Still, the conversation of ‘pictures for book covers' always... ALWAYS ends up with a no, even if it's a polite "No thank you" or "Sorry, no thanks." On a few occasions, I even heard "Fuck no." I haven't kept track, but I know for sure I have asked three of my last four girlfriends, a recent hook up, and two coworkers. Not to mention a friend of a friend who was more than willing to send me naked photos, but insisted they were for me, not KINDLE.

In absolute truth, I had given up the idea and begun looking into AI art.

My ex-girlfriend Kelly and I are friends, hang out once in a while, make a point of talking and texting a couple times a week. What didn't work out romantically became a friendship we both wanted. We can argue about anything, forgive everything, and laugh at nothing. Today, Sunday afternoon, she was at the broken tool store otherwise known as HARBOR FREIGHT while I wasted time in WALMART. I ran into a friend, chatted about trivia night, and we talked about eventually, we will come in first place at some point.

We hugged, then went our separate ways shopping.

So I continued shopping, killing time, and for no reason other than to talk while she waited for me, Kelly called, creating a conversation that I could not have imagined, dreamed, made up or written. 100 percent true, real and like the title, UNEXPECTED. She was asking why I didn't write a book. She knows about my stories, has read a few, and thinks like many readers that my gift is the romance and feelings I create and invoke. My strength being my characters seem, feel and sound three dimensional and real. I reminded her that in real life, publishers just don't hand out advances for non-established writers,
