The title is a misnomer. My name is Ellen McHugh and my best friend, Jan Harrelson was invited by her boyfriend to spend two weeks in Europe seeing the sights.

"What a fabulous opportunity. You'll love Paris and Rome, how romantic."

"Ellen, I can't go. I don't feel comfortable leaving Steve alone."

Steve was her eighteen-year-old son.

"Jan, I'll stay here, and watch him. You have to go." So, I was the baby sitter for Steve, who I'd known since he was a baby. I'd even changed his diaper. "I'll even cook and make sure he gets up and goes to work." He had a part-time job for the summer at a grocery store.

I'm still not sure how it happened, but I turned out to be much more than a "baby sitter." I was forty-eight-years-old.

Jan left on a Saturday morning, and Steve had a date with Karen D'Elia Saturday night, who he'd been seeing for over a year. "Steve, remember, you have a midnight curfew. Don't be late."

"I won't. Promise."

When Jan explained to her son about using protection, Steve confided in her that he and Karen weren't having sex yet. "Mom, I get so frustrated. She lets me feel her boobs."

"Steve, I've seen her at the pool. It doesn't look she has much there," Jan said.

"Ummmm."

"Well, not as much as the women in the girlie magazines you don't think I know about hidden under your bed."

Steve blushed.

"You tell me everything. I'm not mad you have the magazines. I'm mad that you hid it. What else is going on with you and Kaen?"

"Well, she lets me for a while but when I try to put my hand under her skirt, she pushes my hand away."

"Steve, she's just not ready yet. Don't rush it. She'll let you know when it's oaky. Then you'll get everything you want. Steve, I know what boys want."

"Sometimes, It's like she's teasing me."

"What do you mean?"

"Mom, she rubs her hand across my jeans. I get all excited. It's uncanny, she rubs and rubs, and then BAM!!!!! She stops, ‘I think you've had enough for tonight,' she'll tell me. I always come home frustrated.'

"I know. I hear you in your bedroom."

Steve blushed. He didn't realize his mother could hear him masturbating in bed.

"It's okay, honey. All boys do that. It's a healthy way to relieve sexual frustration."

Tonight, my first night of ‘babysitting,' Steve came home before his curfew. I was in bed reading. The clock radio read 11:38. I smiled. I wouldn't have to confront him. I was afraid he'd take advantage of his mom's absence.

I was in Jan's room which had its own bathroom. The second bathroom which Steve used was down the hall.
